Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop in the beginning employing four individuals. Product sales for their first year of operation amounted to about $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. Within five years of operation, the business had stretched to 40 staff and their annual sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. These days, Cascade is one of the leading global manufacturers in the material handling business.
Design and manufacturing of the company's very first hydraulic cylinder allowed this new company to aggressively engage in better business possibilities. All through the last sixty years, the industry of material handling has grown into a very complex area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its growth. Cascade presently continues to grow as the leader provider of forklift attachments and various related products. In the nineteen fifties, Cascade started designing, fabricating and advertising hydraulic accessories. Manufacturing was completed in 1956 on a new office to house all of the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current headquarters. Following 15 years of business, total staff reached one hundred eighty employees and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio a second production facility was built. 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the global world of the material handling industry while the business established interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The business changed its name to Cascade Corporation in 1964. In 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. The business has expanded its production facilities throughout the U.S. with locations in Portland, Oregon, Springfield, Ohio, and Warner Robins, Georgia. Cascade products are manufactured globally due to a lot of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a brand new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This plant is designed to be the essential customer service centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and the year 1997 with the impressive acquisition of five firms, along with the global leader in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
