Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - This particular type of mast includes three sections as the name implies. The outer part is connected firmly to the lift vehicle. The next part telescopes within the mounted outer part and the inner most part telescopes inside the intermediate part. Both the intermediate and the inner part raise and the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides in the interior section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height than the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like for example doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This mast is often outfitted with a center cylinder so as to let the fork carriage elevate several distance before the mast sections start extension.
The 2 Stage Mast consists of two parts. The inner section telescopes within the external and elevates when the lift cylinders extend. The outer section of this particular mast model is mounted to the lift truck. The fork carriage is actually located inside the internal part. This mast type has a taller lowered height as opposed to an equivalent lift height quad mast or 3 stage mast.
